Content API - JSON Customization

If it's not too early to ask,
Will we be able to customize JSON that is returned via Content API (e.g. Renaming Keys like JSONHint)

Will we have an interception event before getting exposed to a channel, where we could do some customization?

Use cases:
1- Client wants to switch to EPiServer to provide Contents from some other CMS for its Mobile Applications. The change will be required only on CMS side.
2- Client has a big set of Properties but want to publish just short set to different channels based on their registration.
