Saving profile data on User

I'm having trouble to save profile data on a user in the "Edit User" dialog in a custom plug-in tab.

In EPiServer 4, there where LoadSettings and SaveSettings events, how is this solved in EPiServer 5?, saving in Page_Load after an post back trigged by the save button does not work.

How can I add custom profile data on a user when it's being created in the same "Edit User" dialog and my custom plug-in tab.
