Are Performance counters still functional in EPi7?

Been trying to add em on the server but they just don't seem to be able to be added. 

I can see them in the list of counters to add but when chosing to add one nothing happens.

So are they legacy items or are they suppose to work?

Yes, but you explicitly need to turn them on. They are off by default as they add some startup time.

Adding

<applicationSettings ... enablePerformanceCounters="true" ... />

should do the trick.
