Distributing EPiServer Assemblies with Open Source Projects

It has come to light that some open source projects on Code Resort (and no doubt other source-code portals) are packaged with EPiServer assembly files.

Please note that this is not allowed without express authorization and is clearly stated in the EPiServer End User License Agreement (EULA):

3. Restrictions

3.1 Transfer. Except as expressly authorized in this Agreement, Licensee shall not hire out, lease, lend, assign, sublicense, distribute (electronically or otherwise), resell, sell, create any derivative works of, or otherwise transfer all or any portion of the Software to a third party, (see article 10.3 below).

The complete EULA for EPiServer products which was distributed with CMS 6 can be downloaded here.

Please take some time to review any open source projects you have submitted to the various source-code portals and ensure any EPiServer assembly files are removed from those packages.
